Most ultrasounds require a referral from your doctor. Some services may be available without a referral — please contact us to confirm.

Most scans take between 15–30 minutes, depending on the type of examination. Specific information can be found on the procedures page or ring our friendly team for assistance.

Your images will be reviewed by our sonologist (a specialist doctor in ultrasound image interpretation), and a report will be sent to your referring doctor. Reports are typically available to your doctor within 24 hours.

In urgent cases, we may contact your doctor or the local hospital directly to ensure you receive appropriate care as soon as possible.

Yes, you are welcome to bring a support person. For pregnancy scans, partners and family are encouraged to attend. We also have a small children’s play area available to help keep little ones comfortable during your visit.

Preparation varies depending on the type of ultrasound:

Please empty your bladder 1.5 hours before your appointment. Within the first 30 minutes after emptying your bladder, drink 600mL of water and try to hold it until your appointment.

 

This scan is performed between 18 - 22 weeks of pregnancy, ideally around 21 weeks.

 

The 20-week morphology scan is an important and exciting milestone in your pregnancy. This detailed ultrasound looks at your baby’s growth and development, including the baby's organs, bones, and overall anatomy, as well as the placenta, amniotic fluid, and umbilical cord.

 

Most parents love being able to see their baby on the screen during the scan, and if you wish, you may even discover your baby’s gender (in most cases). You will also receive printed images and a USB of your baby’s pictures to take home.

This scan usually takes around 60 minutes, providing reassurance that your baby is developing well and helping your doctor guide care throughout your pregnancy.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area being scanned.

Yes, you will be able to see your baby on the screen during the examination.

We have a large 42" dedicated patient viewing screen so you can comfortably watch every precious moment.

Where possible, we also aim to capture 3D images to provide a more detailed and memorable view of your baby (depending on gestational age).

Yes. You will receive printed images and a USB with your baby’s pictures. In many cases, 3D images can also be included, depending on your baby’s position and gestation.

Gender can usually be identified from around 16–20 weeks, depending on your baby’s position. If we are unable to confirm the gender at your morphology (20-week) scan, you will be offered a complimentary follow-up appointment to reassess at a later date.

Yes. Ultrasound-guided injections (including cortisone and PRP) are available for appropriate conditions.

Bulk billing may be available for certain scans with a valid referral. Please contact us to confirm.

We understand that life can be unpredictable. If you are able to provide at least 24 hours’ notice, we really appreciate it, as it allows us to offer the appointment to another patient who may be waiting for a scan.

We do not charge cancellation fees, and offer easy cancellation via SMS — simply text us on 0422 432 001.
